A ‘Brazilian’, the ‘European’, the ‘Heart’, and the ’Landing Strip’ were probably not terms of reference when the Inquisitors were developing their torture techniques on the 12th century Cathars… but nevertheless would have proved very effective routes to contrition.
It must have been a terrifying experience to be dragged to a place, stripped, and have your most intimate parts subjected to painful manipulation by strangers in the name of vanity and worship. This religious activity must have been a little like a regular guy going to a waxing salon these days!
